UPDATE! Keane's new Album is, in fact, awesome....

So, this morning, in the wake of an awesome concert last night, we brought you an old Keane Album, partly because its great, partly because we hadn't heard the new one. Well, we've heard it, and it puts 'Perfect Symmetry' to shame (which put 'Under the Iron Sea' to shame....which put.....you get it again).

This Album cements Keane's place among serious bands that will enjoy longevity. With a few tracks featuring K'naan (who was prominently featured in one of our favorite albums of the year, 'Distant Relatives'), a few tracks channeling the Talking Heads, and a few truly "Keane" tracks, this album has everything and does it all perfectly.

The GentDaily team (well, half of the team anyways) checked out a concert in Chicago last night of, you guessed it, Keane. Simply Amazing. These guys have what it takes to continue to get better, so we thought we'd bring you their 2008 hit album 'Perfect Symmetry' for your listening pleasure today!

Keane's third studio album, 'Perfect Symmetry' was a huge improvement over their second album (which was an improvement over their first album...and their first album was amazing, you see what we're getting at here). Keane released their fourth album back in May to mixed reviews, so we'll leave that one for another day.

Full of synthesizers and 80s pop-esque tunes, 'Perfect Symmetry' covers the gauntlet of styles from all the post-radiohead brit bands, and they do it with, well, perfect symmetry. Tracks like "Spiralling" and "The Lovers are Losing" evoke a music genre that was prevalent 20 years early, but do it with new spins. To contrast, "Playing Along" and "You Don't See Me" reach back to the brit-pop roots that made these guys popular. Download the entire album on iTunes or get the hard copy HERE.

And you thought Men's Health was only a magazine! The best men's magazine on the market actually has an entire section of their website devoted to how-to videos right HERE. We recently stumbled upon the step by step diagram of the above tutorial and were thrilled to see we'd be able to share the video with all the GD readers. Instead of just recycling all those summer beer bottles, gather the ingredients you need (beer bottle, string, lighter fluid, lighter, sandpaper) to perform this awesome stunt.
